Job Description

Danfoss is seeking a passionate Category Buyer to join our team in Grodzisk Mazowiecki (PL), who will be responsible for sourcing and maintaining relationships with suppliers of components or goods used directly in the production of the final product. Your role is to negotiate the best possible price and delivery terms while maintaining the required product quality. The Buyer associated with direct purchasing usually works closely with the production plant. This function also involves managing purchasing projects and some trips, e.g. to trade fairs or visits to the supplier for negotiation or audit purposes. 

Your colleagues and stakeholders are in different countries in Europe, so you enjoy working in a virtual and multi-cultural environment.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but not limited to, the following:  

  • Responsible for executing standard processes and tools related to materials change management. 
  • Coordinate PPAPs & new projects ramp up, ramp down. 
  • Support supplier onboarding as per Danfoss standards.      
  • Support inbounds on forecast versus supplier capacities.     
  • Own and maintain procurement master data for local / regional sites, incl. SAP data.      
  • Own and maintain supplier tooling database, incl. Input for budget.     
  • Active teamwork with the category teams and BU (Business Unit) teams to constantly improve processes, meet-exceed target, share best practices and present.      
  • Support corrective actions for on time delivery (OTD).

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.  

  • Degree or certificate within logistics, business administration, supply chain preferred. Other relevant fields are manufacturing, quality, technology, or process engineering. 
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience from an international organization including direct category management. 
  • Great negotiation skills with outstanding networking skills and the ability to manage multiple suppliers and stakeholders while navigating safely in complex relations. 
  • Be able to work both independently and in cross-functional teams. 
  • Be a proactive self-starter with a high commitment and a positive can-do attitude. 
  • Have diplomatic skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
