Application Engineer

Job Description

Danfoss Climate Solutions, Application Development Center is looking for an Application Engineer to join our team of six dedicated colleagues in Nordborg.  We are a global team of application engineers working with the optimization of thermal systems. We help customers globally to decarbonize their heating and cooling applications, shifting to refrigerants with lower environmental impacts and/or finding innovative solutions to reducing energy consumption. The main focus of this position is on the trending heat pump and chiller applications, especially on the testing of optimized control systems including control of new electronically controlled components.

Job Responsibilities

As our new Application Engineer, you will perform application investigation and development tasks combining simulation and physical testing. In more detail, you will:

•    Develop application testing methods in cooperation with internal functions and customers
•    Perform the specified application tests on units, also according to international standardized testing requirements
•    Analyze, diagnose and modify systems to support sales and R&D programs
•    Prepare and maintain test schedules and documentation
•    Maintain effective communication with project teams to ensure effective task completion
•    Internal functions for collaboration and cooperation include RD&E, sales and marketing

Background & Skills

To succeed in this role, you should have an engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree and knowledge of thermal systems, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Furthermore, you need to have relevant work experience and having a proven track record in electrical engineering would be a significant advantage. for test setups and prototype units. You should communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing.
 

Additionally, you need to have knowledge/experience in below:
 
•    Testing processes and methodologies
•    Documentation of electrical systems
•    Measurement techniques, metrology, data acquisition
•    Heat pumps, chillers certification standards
•    Data processing

You have a structured and disciplined working approach and persistently use your strong technical know-how and logical mindset to impact results. Your strong personality and networking skills enable you to communicate effectively, also in a cross-cultural team.
