Job Description

At Semikron Danfoss we are currently looking for a Senior Equipment Engineer – Test Systems (m/f/d) located in our office in Flensburg or Ismaning (Munich area), Germany. You will be part of our Global Production Technology team serving our production sites in Flensburg, the US and China, ensuring state-of-the-art production equipment. This position can be filled in full- or part-time. If you would like to be based in the Ismaning office, we would require willingness to spent the onboarding phase in Flensburg and frequent travel to Flensburg as part of the position. 

Background & Skills

In this role you will develop test equipment and automation concepts fitting the needs of product, process and production and create test equipment specifications. You will implement and develop customized solutions in collaboration with our existing and potential new equipment suppliers. Therefore, you will manage and control the procurement process to meet timeline, budget, and quality. Further, you will perform supplier- and final acceptances according to corporate and legal requirements. Finally, you qualify, verify, document and release equipment to our operations team.


Throughout your work you will continuously improve standards and processes to ensure the implementation of state-of-the-art and new equipment. You leverage your profound experience in evaluation of new projects and production technologies and lead by example in challenging situations.

Job Responsibilities

For this position you hold a university degree in mechanical, mechatronics or industrial engineering or an equivalent educational background with experience in test system engineering in a manufacturing environment. Additionally, we are looking for: 

  • Experience in managing multiple projects in parallel within the manufacturing environment (e.g., supplier change, improvement, implementation)
  • Familiarity with machine directives (e.g., 2006/42/EG) and international safety requirements (e.g., DIN EN ISO 13857 or OSHA/NRTL) is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in engineering methods (e.g., FMEA, SPC, Pareto Analysis, Control Charts, 8D Methodology, DoE) is a plus
  • Highly motivated, self-driven and well-organized personality with hands-on mentality
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with flexible mindset
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent English and good German language skills
  • Willingness to travel approx. 10-30%
