Job Description

 

Danfoss in Ames has an opening for a 2nd shift Process Technician. The hours for this position are Monday – Friday 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm.

 

The Process Technician will work closely with assembly lines to assist in supporting day to day production, support continuous improvement and troubleshoot issues.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Support day to day operations to ensure production is running effectively
  • Troubleshoot issues as the line experiences them
  • Help improve assembly line layouts and flow
  • Provide detailed data collection and analysis (time studies, material flow, waste analysis)
  • Assist in implementing new equipment on assembly lines (including performing capability studies)
  • Help design and implement Poka-Yokes on assembly lines
  • Implement manufacturing controls on assembly line
  • Help design and implement process improvements on assembly line
  • Help improve ergonomics throughout assembly process

Background & Skills

 

  • Minimum of an AA degree or equivalent from a technical school; and 6 months related experience on Danfoss products, or five years’ experience in lieu of degree.  Desire for 4-year technical degree and/or hands on experience in operations.
  • Able to interact with all levels of organization (shop floor to management)
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes, process aids and poke yokes
  • Proficient with basic hand tools
  • CAD modeling experience is a plus
  • PLC programming knowledge is a plus
