Quality Engineer

Job Description
This quality engineer role will support the manufacturing teams to achieve high results by addressing customer and internal concerns through application of core quality tools. There will be a heavy focus on 8D and problem solving for our OEM’s and distributors, as well as direct support of manufacturing and assembly operations to achieve internal goals related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
Job Responsibilities
- Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for process and customer related concerns
- Assist in analysis of failures and implement corrective and preventive action in response to customer complaints
- Utilize data driven approach to help focus manufacturing team on critical to quality topics to achieve BU strategic goals
- Facilitate required customer certifications
- Lead small teams or groups to meet quality objectives
- Assist internal process audits and help facilitate corrective and preventive actions for findings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Background & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent related experience
- Practical and proven understanding of technical problem solving (i.e. 8D methodology)
- Proficiency with operations quality related concepts and tools (FMEA, Control Plan, Statistical Tools)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to actively participate in and facilitate group meetings
- Technical Problem-Solving Certification/Training (Six-Sigma, Shainin, Kepner-Tregoe)
- Knowledge of Off-Road OEM Vehicle Hydraulics
- Experience with ISO9000 or IATF16949
- Light travel may be required (2-4 weeks per year)
