Job Description

Danfoss is looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven Account Manager determined to increase the share of wallet with our existing sales partners and source and secure new opportunities to achieve sales growth targets.

Danfoss Power Solution is a leader in the mobile fluid power industry with components that are commonly used in the construction, marine and agricultural industries.

 You will work towards achieving profitable sales targets and develop market penetration/expansion objectives that support strategic plans for growth within a designated business area and territory.

This position will be located in Christchurch.

 

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Achieve sales growth in assigned product area, market, region or channel. 
  • Develop and implement sales strategy to expand existing customer base as well as identify new opportunities within assigned territory/markets/Industry. 
  • Cultivate effective long-term relationships with customers/potential customers through regular and meaningful contact. 
  • Research and scope technical solutions required to meet industry-specific, customer needs or unmet needs, and recommend the solution/s that optimize value and satisfaction for customers and Danfoss. 
  • Apply Danfoss selling and pricing methodology, practices and protocols and participate in the preparation of tender documentation and submissions as required.
  • Prepare and deliver product demonstrations and solution presentations (on-site or off-site) to potential and existing customers, industry groups and consultants.  
  • Participate in sales meetings along with trade shows as required.             
  • Monitors customer support and satisfaction for technical solutions.     
  • Collaborate with other sales and technical staff to ensure opportunities are followed up and progressed. 
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities in line with strategic growth plans.            
  • Provide status reports on work as required, including sales forecast. 
  • Maintain accurate records on target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence.  Works collaboratively to ensure relevant internal staff are kept informed and aware of any potential risks associated with sales closure.                                                                  

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering) or relevant years of industry experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of proven sales experience within the fluid industry.
  • Ability to influence high-level engagement and relationship building.
  • An excellent ability to listen, understand and deliver on customer needs and requirements.
  • Must be a team player and have excellent planning and prioritisation skills to handle the varied workloads.
  • Strong customer and product knowledge is desirable as is an understanding of the markets/channels being serviced or targeted.
  • Knowledge of end-user applications is valuable as is the ability to manage the dynamics and diversity faced by sales partners.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Must possess the ability to construct detailed sales plans, develop, conduct training seminars, make presentations and prepare quotes and tenders.
  • Proficient with MS Office and Salesforce is required.
  • Self-motivation, determination and a willingness to succeed even under pressure.
  • Ability to work within a diverse culture and a matrix communications environment.
