Job Description

At Danfoss Power Solutions, we have a vacancy for a Distribution Account Manager (m/f/d).

We have offices located at Baden-Baden and Wehrheim in Germany. The majority of work will be carried out from Home Office, so no need to be located close to our office locations. Frequent travel to various parts of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands (so-called Central Region) is to be expected.

Job Responsibilities

As our new Distribution Account Manager, you will initially take ownership of our Distribution customer base in the Central Region, assisting Partners with sales growth and developing future plans. The regional area of responsibility may change in the future. You will be required to contribute to team building, ethic and will work in close cooperation with sales colleagues and internal business. Furthermore, your key tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop distributor partnerships & networks within your region;
  • Develop profitable opportunities & sales based on the Value Selling technique;
  • Ensure optimal profitability for Danfoss by providing Partners with targeted pricing & apply annual price updates and surcharges;
  • Organize internal and external meetings, events and training as required to reach your goals;
  • Support and cooperate with internal and external stakeholders like: System Application Engineers, Business Units, Sales and Order Management;
  • Cooperate with Global Product Management, Supply Chain and R&D departments to ensure timely and accurate exchange of information towards partners;
  • Competition monitoring, recognition and reporting of market and technology trends.

Background & Skills

The successful candidate will have a good technical understanding of hydraulics, fluid conveyances & electronics. A Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering and preferred 3 years of relevant work experience. Additionally, we would like to see:  

  • A background in distribution and understanding of the distribution business;
  • Experience operating in a network of independent distribution partners across the Central Region is considered as a major advantage;
  • Well-developed communication skills and have the ability to work in a team and be a valuable contributor to the team;
  • Possess a proactive attitude and operate on an efficient and independent basis if needed;
  • Willing and able to do frequent business travel in the previous described countries and region;
  • Have fluent (in word and writing) language skills for the German and English language.
