Job Description

This regional position is responsible for partnering with Human Resources and business leaders to create and drive career entry and development strategies for North America (NAM). The Career Development Manager will have direct responsibility for creating and implementing comprehensive internship and job rotation programs that meet our regional business needs. This role must align with global initiatives but remain agile enough to be relevant to all employees within a complex matrixed organization. Building a comprehensive program that focuses on attracting and retaining early career talent will involve developing policies, processes, best practices, and employee education and awareness.

Job Responsibilities

  • Adapt existing internship and apprenticeship efforts to become strategic and aligned with business and human resource goals, which includes:
    • Conduct a formal needs assessment to determine where interns and apprentices are best utilized
    • Form proactive new partnerships with colleges and universities that can help further Danfoss’ ability to attract the type of talent we need for the future
  • Develop and implement a job rotation program for post-graduate students and other new recruits that creates exposure to different aspects of our business and helps them locate a permanent position upon successful program completion.
  • Manage incubator programs at partner colleges and universities and ensure all involved parties are aligned on strategies and goals.
  • Working with global Human Resources and Learning and Development teams, create sample career maps and pathways for key and critical roles to help new employees understand potential career moves for development.
  • Deliver career development workshops utilizing a variety of methods, including classroom and virtual facilitation, recorded webinars, learning management system resources, and via vendor partners.
  • Manage a pipeline of early career talents to ensure they have meaningful development plans, discuss career development with their leaders, and are aware of opportunities for career growth as they arise.

Background & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a concentration in human resources, business administration, education, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous professional experience, with experience in internship or career development programs and/or university relations required.
  • Experience with training and development and/or employee relations strongly desired. Previous experience with learning management systems and/or HR systems preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate business strategy into organizational development plans.
  • Excellent written, oral and positive influential interpersonal skills required; ability to communicate in both technical and non-technical terms.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Power BI).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
