Job Description

Danfoss has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Freight Audit Manager based in either the US or Mexico. As our new Freight Audit Manger you will lead a team and projects focused on creating new audit payment processes while also making changes to current processes. You will drive the expansion of audit payment of transportation globally, including incorporating changes required to meet regional requirements. You will work closely with division, region, and corporate leadership to identify requirements and develop strategies for the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance for freight bill audit and payment processes while ensuring compliance with internal accounting requirements including industry and legal requirements and standards.

Job Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Reporting and measurement of effectiveness of the audit and payment processes
  • Reporting to senior management of performance and escalation of critical issues.
  • Determine metrics needed to drive business improvements 
  • Maintain dashboards to meet business needs 
  • Determine, analyze, and submit Supply Chain financial accruals to accurately report monthly expenses. 
  • Manages the processing, coding, and submission of manual invoices for payment ensuring compliance with approval guidelines and control standards.
  • Ensures all processes regarding freight payment are completed in a timely manner and all systems are accurately updated.
  • Perform monthly post audit 
  • Investigate and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Supports transportation/procurement teams during annual bid events with financial analysis
  • Oversee claims processes and reconciliation
  • Develops a strategy for making sure logistics invoices are paid accurately and on time. 
  • Leading the Freight Audit staff managing suppliers through regular status reviews with the businesses and 3rd Party W&A / CASS
  • Collaborates with business customers across Danfoss and the freight forwarders ensuring freight invoices are transferred in a correct format and audited and paid correctly. 
  • Implementing efficient finance processes to streamline the billing and tracking of the services
  • Tracks, monitors and reports invoice exceptions to ensure 100% compliance with targets.
  • Identifies root cause and corrective measures for any issues.
  • Maintains effective and proactive relationships with regional business teams to ensure support of existing and new operational requirements.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Logistics or other relevant Business degree preferred
  • 5+ years of supply chain, finance, or other relevant experience
  • History of building and managing teams
  • Broad working experience with information systems TMS, FAP/MAP
  • Expert level understanding of carrier contracts and pricing agreements (all modes)
  • Proven project management abilities; sets priorities, achievement oriented
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Persuasive; comfortable interacting with senior management
  • Ability to multi-task and work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Able to conceptualize and think creatively with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills; comfortable working across multiple functional areas
  • Extremely organized
  • Understanding of transportation management systems
  • Knowledge of electronic data interchange technologies 
  • Month end financial processes
