Job Description

Danfoss in Jackson, Michigan is searching for a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The person in this position will work with the team with the primary purpose of maintaining equipment to ensure a continuous flow of material through a manufacturing cell or work area as required to meet production requirements. In this position you will promote continuous improvement to eliminate defects, improve the manufacturing process as well as completing safety and preventative maintenance work orders.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

Maintain the machinery including electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment.
Maintain the structure of the building and equipment. Preventative Maintenance. Utilize tools and equipment of several trades.
Plan and lay out work relating to repair of mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment and machinery. Install, relocate, and align new and used equipment.
Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records. Comply with all ISO 14001 standards and training requirements. Handle hazardous materials. Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts.

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.

High School diploma or GED. Must be ITAR compliant.
Two-year vocational degree or completion of accredited apprenticeship in machine maintenance
Experience in PLC troubleshooting, electrical, pneumatics and hydraulics
Previous experience with preventative maintenance systems. Previous experience in maintaining production equipment or CNC equipment.
Experience with operating aerial lifts. Previous experience operating lift trucks.
