Job Description

Danfoss is looking for a Strategic Account Leader (SAL) responsible for developing our sales strategy and initiatives for a key National Distributor for Danfoss Power Solutions business. The preferred candidate will have a proven track record of leading company initiatives; building a strong pipeline for growth; and managing all aspects of the customer relationship.  The right candidate will be located in Minneapolis, Chicago, St Louis; and must be willing to travel 30% or more.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies and key initiatives to build pipeline and meet company sales and profitability goals
  • Train, motivate and lead the indirect team of account managers; achieve performance and growth results
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews to monitor performance and customer relationship.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all sales efforts with account managers at Distributor’s national locations
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders within Distributor to convert competitive spend and grow market share
  • Elevate relationships to a strategic level by developing and maintaining senior leadership alignment at both the business unit and the executive level
  • Be the Distributor’s trusted advisor and primary advocate within Danfoss Power Solutions on products, technology, and markets
  • Manage/lead the involvement of all relevant internal functions including marketing, application/technical support, and channel management to align with the Distributor’s objectives

Background & Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of strategic account experience in Hydraulics and/or Electronics Industry sales, or similar technical sales industry.
  • Experience in interacting and leading initiatives in a matrix organization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for executive communication and presentation
  • Proven leadership of large complex customer relationships
  • Utilize pragmatic solutions to complex issues and challenges, both internally and externally
  • Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • 5 years of experience making recommendations to and/or collaborating with senior level executives
  • 5 years of technology-related sales or account management experience
  • 5 years of people management experience
