Job Description

At Danfoss Drives we are currently looking for a Functional Safety Engineer (m/f/d) at our Bruchsal, Germany, office. In this role you will join an international development team and be a key expert for Functional Safety. Our Software and Control Engineering Team creates and maintains the control platforms and software in our AC drives.

Job Responsibilities

In this role your main task will be to develop and implement functional safety solutions into our new and existing products (e.g. frequency converters) based on IEC 61508 standard. This includes requirement specification engineering, concept phase management, realization, testing and co-operation with authorities and other development units. You will assist throughout the entire certification process. Overall, you will maintain and expand the functional safety capabilities in the existing products. 


You will be working closely with our product management and development teams in Denmark, Finland and other global R&D units when developing new products and will give support to the organization regarding safety functions. 

Background & Skills

For this position you hold a technical degree, e.g. in software and/or electrical engineering or equivalent background and experience from the Embedded Software development area as well as some years of experience from a similar position in Functional Safety. Additionally, we are looking for: 

 

  • Certification in Functional Safety is a plus
  • Familiar with agile working methods
  • Teamplayer with willingness to take responsibility
  • Communicative and high degree of self-motivation
  • Positive and open-minded attitude
  • Fluent English and very good German language skills
