Danfoss is looking for a  Senior Technical Sales Engineer to join our Climate Solutions Division, with the drive and motivation to achieve the sales growth targets for the HVAC/R product portfolio.  

This role will be based in Melbourne however travel throughout Australia and New Zealand will be required to secure sales opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Ownership of strategy, sales and business development in delivering the financial objectives for Danfoss Climate Solutions.
  • Work closely with the sales, technical, operations and other functions in Australia & Asia Pacific region who provide support to sales.
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager to assist in business functions like sales forecasting, building strong business pipeline, updating Sales Force (CRM) and other activities as required.
  • Responsible for generating sales, meeting agreed sales targets and business development to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Establish a sales budget for assigned customers.
  • Develop in-depth customer understanding identifying areas Danfoss can bring greatest value to grow our business share.
  • Defining, developing and implementing Pacific Indirect Sales growth plans.
  • Meet sales targets and continuously grow market shares. Quote negotiate and close sales deals/orders and projects.
  • Identify and build strong business relationship with key contractors & influencers.
  • Lead strategic customer meetings including quarterly review meetings with partners & key customers.
  • Contribution to marketing plan and business development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain an active opportunity pipeline for all accounts allocated.
  • Maintaining and developing customer loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Active participation in marketing activities (i.e. exhibitions, surveys, etc.)
  • Maintain customer relationships and follow up orders.

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • Tertiary qualified in business management &/or engineering field.
  • Technical understanding of Refrigeration, Airconditioning, Heating components and systems.
  • Proven project sales experience within the ‘heating and cooling’ business.
  • Relationship builder with key stakeholders
  • Understanding of the HVAC/R market
  • Project sales funnel management
  • Value Selling approach with a  good network of contacts at the highest level.
  • Strategic mindset with good analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English with strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, power point etc.
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Resilience, drive & highly motivated.
  • Performance driven - not afraid to suggest/take initiatives and work independently.
  • Ability to work with international teams in a global matrix organization.
  • Cooperative and excellent interpersonal skills.
