Business Development Manager, Solution Sales

Job Description

Danfoss Drives is in the search of a Business Development Manager - Solution Sales. You will be a key member of the Danfoss Drives Solutions Sales team and the wider Drives Sales team. This position is about developing and growing Solution sales and large project business in line with country targets. Focus will be on Solution customers, to whom products offered are typically complex, requiring a high level of customer relationship skills.  The is a home-office based role in the UK with flexibility on the location.

Job Responsibilities

If you take the challenge as our new Business Development Manager, Solution Sales, your main business activity area will be Electrification including Battery Energy Storage Systems, P2X, Hybridisation Solutions and other power conversion applications as well as strategic Motor Drive applications. You will be working closely with the Country Manager on how best to influence the route to market of these channels in line with the Danfoss Global Strategic Focus Industry strategy. Part of job is to liaise with and develop agreements with 3rd party suppliers e.g., transformer suppliers, motor / generator manufacturers, and system integrators. You will also deliver tenders and quotations and have the responsibility of contract management. Furthermore, your key tasks will be:

 

  • 2nd wave sales support to the external sales teams to gain project acceptance/specification via consultants, contractors, system integrators, OEM’s and end users. 
  • Develop all System Drive sales activities and competences including Active Harmonic Filters in Solutions / Large Project Business to meet customer specifications
  • Ensure Solution sales goals are achieved through the effective placement and motivation of sales & project engineering professionals
  • Liaise with the Country Manager and Product Sales Manager to develop, implement and continuously improve key sales and service processes
  • Help to direct the flow of information for Solution sales activities and transactions, including sales leads

Background & Skills

To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates who are technically competent and commercially aware. You have good understanding of power converters, low voltage AC drives and electrification applications. You are used to working with sales targets and have proven track record of managing key accounts. You may have a commercial or technical degree. You have proactive Solution sales approach and opportunity management.

 

On a more personal level, you are result-oriented and always have the customer and business in your focus. You effectively communicate and build network with other functions and regions within the Danfoss Drives organization. You will be joining a team with competent and professional colleagues and we hope that you also enjoy working as part of a high-functioning team. Technology is your other language, and you enjoy solving the problems customer might have.
