Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for a 3rd Shift ​CNC Lathe Programmer ​to join us at our diverse team in Easley, SC. The CNC Lathe Programmer will perform a wide range of duties related to operating CNC machines and secondary machines and Quality Inspections as required.   

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

 

  • Required to prepare and maintain CNC programs to current engineering specifications, including detailed tooling and gauging requirements.
  • Required to generate related tool list, apart from set–up sheets, along with related drawings.
  • Responsible for making recommendations regarding process improvements as well as new technology.
  • CNC programmer determines the sequence of shaping operations and chooses the cutting tools needed.
  • Provides set-up sheets and routings, including calculation of standard times for manufacturing or cost reduction.
  • Determines and maintains the tooling and/or equipment necessary to manufacture a product with respect to the cost, quality, and ease of manufacturing objectives.
  • Ensure scrap issues are understood, attended to properly and corrected.
  • Provide suggested preventative measures, to ensure inherent and robust machine capability.
  • Works with the Machining Facilitators and Leads to ensure all around capability

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

 

  • Must have broad technical knowledge in machining of work.
  • High School education or GED equivalency
  • Strong problem solving and organization skills, with above average shop math skills in geometry and trigonometry
  • Must be able to work standing for extended periods
  • Experience with Mazak Mazatrol controls
  • Proficiency programming multiple types of CNC machines, including 5-axis
  • Self-motivated and self-driven proven project leadership, ability to accept new challenges, take ownership, and make decisions
  • Demonstrate proficiency interpreting drawing requirements
  • Must be able to work while wearing safety equipment
  • Machining background preferably with 12L14 experience.
