What we are looking for:

  • We are looking for a Lead Firmware Engineer, who will become a key member of a team that is supporting the development, the maintenance, and the launch of embedded firmware packages, used on hydraulic components.
  • The position will be part of our EOS Software team in our Eden Prairie Plant in the US, and you will join the local team of competent colleagues and be working with a wide range of technologies in a dedicated functional unit.
  • Your overall mission will be to support the development of embedded firmware to meet challenging internal and external customer expectations. 
  • Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement and validate embedded firmware for various products. To this end, you will cooperate closely with your colleagues in designated teams, ensuring that products meet applicable standards and customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for the design and implementation of embedded firmware
  • Ensure design is compliant with standards (automotive, industrial and safety)
  • Work with cross functional project teams to define specifications
  • Support Project Management Office to lay out confident project schedules
  • Ensure first time right mindset by applying structured analysis and lessons learned

Background & Skills

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in firmware development
  • Strong experience in C
  • Have knowledge of working with integrated teams using GIT based version control tools like GITHUB etc.
  • Have knowledge of working with MS DevOps
  • Thorough understanding of software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading concepts with strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Familiarity with a variety of embedded hardware - 8/16/32 bit microcontroller families from TI, Atmel NXP and  ST 
  • Good knowledge of memory architecture and embedded bus protocols (SPI,I2C, etc.)
  • Familiarity with hardware debug tools such as bus/protocol analyzers/Oscilloscopes/Multi-meters/etc.
  • Experienced debugging and testing skills 
  • Good knowledge of CAN and higher layer CAN protocols 
  • Good knowledge of Industrial Ethernet protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT)

 

Additional Experience that is a Plus

  • Experience with various software qualification equipment
  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum (CSD/CSM)
