Job Description

The primary function of the Product Application Engineer is performing a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions pertaining to Fluid Conveyance products and unique customer applications.  The Product Application Engineer identifies and designs company products, determining feasibility and costs for specific customer applications and quotations.  Focuses on improving sales growth, product fit, and utilizing company profit margin targets to produce a product and quotation that will win business.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 
•    Translates customer requirements into internal designs using existing company design standards, while ensuring manufacturability internally and functionality for the customer.  Creates new preliminary designs for products utilizing Pro-E and other design software depending on the specific application or requirements.
•    Creates and confirms all needed information such as bills of material, costing, supplier quotes, routings, etc. are established and available to Pricing and manufacturing engineering.
•    Updates operating systems with customer/company cross-reference.  Captures and communicates all noted exceptions and deviations taken during the quoting process.
•    Coordinates input from sales, product management, and customers, and communicates key information.
•    Support SAP system activities related to product coding, product descriptions & characteristics, and variety of product & system maintenance activities. 
•    Ability to layout several project schedules and manage timelines and milestones appropriately to meet customer expectations. Accomplish daily tasks with little to no guidance from a supervisor and/or manager.
•    Demonstrated application of basic leadership tools/principles (Examples: Action Items, Project Plan, Team Meetings, follows PROLaunch methodology). Coordinates successfully with other departments on assigned tasks.
•    Minimal travel required less than 10%

Required (basic) qualifications
•    Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Design.
•    0-3 years of technical experience directly related to hydraulics or component design.
•    0-3 years of experience reading and drawing in software such as CAD, AUTO-CAD, and PRO-E.

Preferred qualifications
•    Experience in Fluid Conveyance products component design.

•    Strong computer skills with Microsoft office applications; Excel, Powerpoint, etc
•    Utilizes sound Engineering and time management skills acquired during training to accomplish a wide variety of technical tasks.
•    A consistent flow of high-quality work.
