Job Description
Danfoss is looking for a Sales Development Manager (SDM) in our Americas region, responsible for driving and developing sales initiatives for OEMs, Distributors and Account Managers with a clear Go-to-Market Strategy for growing business. The SDM, will be responsible for growing top line revenue sales of Danfoss Fluid Conveyance products, support and drive development of new sales opportunities and expanding the market share of existing accounts. The job entails close collaboration with account sales teams, product managers, engineering, manufacturing, and other stakeholders in the division and broader organization to provide best-in-class service to our Distribution channel partners and OEM customers. The Fluid Conveyance division is comprised of four business units (BU’s): Rubber Hydraulic Hose & Fittings (RHHF), Fuel-A/C-Thermoplastic-Specialty (FACTS), Connectors, and Industrial Hose. The SDM role will have interactions in various BU’s based on customer & market segments.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading company initiatives, driving growth, supporting multiple projects in addition to daily tasks and managing aspects of the Danfoss internal/external customer relationship. This is a remote position based within 50 miles of a major city/airport. The right candidate will have the ability to travel 50% or more.
Fluid Conveyance is used across hydraulics systems for mobile and industrial applications. Segments to support could include but not limited to: Construction & Mining, Agriculture, Forestry, Material Handling, Commercial Vehicle & On-Hwy, Industrial and general distribution partners.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to, the following:
- Work with business units to deliver revenue, margin, and growth targets in defined territory / channel / products.
- Develop and execute a business plan, identify target products and/or customers, resulting in a robust business growth pipeline. Align with sales leaders on strategic accounts and growth targets across the sales channel.
- Support commercial sales teams with deep knowledge of fluid conveyance products and customer relationships at a strategic level with joint sales activities.
- Establish strong & healthy relationships with different stakeholders (internal & external).
- Review and manage leads or opportunities in the CRM system.
- Coordinate and support on-site product training.
- Conduct periodic reviews of business to ensure accurate forecasting and opportunity management; analyse wins and losses; present regular, accurate reports to management for review
- Establish a view of market penetration and gaps throughout sales channels, products, and geographies.
- Meet/exceed annual sales & pipeline targets and performance KPIs.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:
Basic qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in OEM or Distribution channel sales, sales/business development, or significant experience within the fluid power industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business preferred
- Demonstrated success in developing and effectively implementing sales solutions to meet customers’ needs and drive financial results.
- Ability to construct detailed sales plans, conduct customer trainings, develop and deliver presentations, and prepare proposed solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Build and maintain a strong understanding of the industry and competitor trends.
- Ability to proactively engage with both corporate and site-based external stakeholders and clients, strong relationship management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate Danfoss value propositions.
- Proficient user of MS Office tools & Power BI.
- Experienced user of CRM system(s).
- Ability to travel domestically (primary) and internationally (if required).
Preferred qualifications
- Certified Fluid Power Hydraulics Specialist
- Knowledge of fluid conveyance and hydraulic products
- Experienced in selling technical products or services
