We are now recruiting for a Material Controller to be based from our Edinburgh (EH20 9TB) site.  
 

Job Responsibilities

The Material Controller will be responsible for:

  • Goods receipt of both direct and in-direct purchase orders via SAP, co-ordination of these orders ensuring they are directed to the correct location/person.
  • Booking and preparation of shipping documentation via SAP, Courier Portal & manual creation for both in-bound & outbound shipments, co-ordination and monitoring of these shipments until arrival at their destination
  • Processing of Material movement transactions in SAP 
  • Issuing Production orders pick-lists for kitting
  • Validating/Processing of Ad-hoc material requests
  • Consumption of production order Via SAP 
  • Meeting Inventory KPIs, preparation, presentation, and root cause analysis 
  • Generate Monthly Scrap report for sign off
  • Aged stock root cause Analysis  
  • Managing Weekly stock cycle counts & root cause analysis 
  • Management of BI-Yearly stock count & root cause analysis 
  • Learn & developing existing SAP process, creation of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Filing / storage of all warehouse paperwork for audit trail  
  • Work with Materials Manager on existing and new projects 
  • Daily interaction Inspection & engineering team
  • Provide cover to other areas of materials/warehouse
  • General Warehouse Duties (5S)

Background & Skills

To thrive in this role, you should display:

  • Relevant inventory control experience
  • Knowledge of SAP is highly beneficial or experience of inventory/ warehousing ERP system & processes
  • Flexible approach, strong and motivated team player.
  • Attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to highlight and implement new inventory/warehouse processes
  • Understanding of inventory control, inbound & outbound delivery processes
  • Experience of customs paperwork, commercial invoices & commodity codes.
  • Understanding of the LEAN practices, 5S standards, and procedures.
  • Valid Forklift License
