Job Description
We have an immediate opportunity for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Tech. to join us at our diverse team in Freeport, IL. Must be a team player responsible for performing mid to expert level repairs, preventative maintenance (PM), fabrication, rearrangement and installation of equipment and systems.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

Observing devices in operation to diagnose the root cause of a problem, disassembling devices to gain access to and replace defective parts, examining parts to detect failure modes, adjustment of assemblies and controls.

Perform tests and repair of electrical circuitry and controls utilizing schematics, manuals and written documentation. Identifies and assists in sourcing of repair parts. Complies with all Safety and 5S requirements.

Situational awareness and ability to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors. Updates all records and workorder history.

Aids lower-level technicians. Completes on the job and technical training for career development. Ability to work alone or on a cross functional team.

Leads small teams in root cause problem solving activities. Must be able to work overtime as required.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 3-5 years’ experience. Knowledge of Hydraulics & Pneumatic and Machine Repair a must. Equivalent experience and education will be considered.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and schematics. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers & service technicians is required. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume are required. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry are required.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in trouble shooting situations where only limited information exists.
