Job Description
Danfoss is now hiring a Senior Product Quality Manager to provide exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders using both fundamental and progressive quality tools. This is a hybrid opportunity where the onsite work can be performed at any of our locations in the U.S. This position will be responsible to drive continuous improvement through the development and implementation of Global Quality processes, Global Best Practice implementation, and Deployment of quality tools and techniques. The right candidate with have experience in Quality Engineering, with expertise in areas leading next generation product development.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
Customer Engagement
- Serve as a Focal Point for major customer quality issues
- Drive sites to timely response to customer requests and strategic improvements
- Review and promote improvement in customer metrics to ensure customer satisfaction
- Understand and champion customer requests for corrective/preventive action
- Monitor trends in Quality data to identify continual improvement opportunities
Business Strategy and Direction
- Support Business Units in all Quality related aspects associated by potential and new business
- Establish relationships and contacts with Product Engineering and assembly personnel to understand process maturity and effects on transition to product realization
- Preparation and supporting the successful Customer PPAP submission, approval before product launch (series production)
- Participate in PPAP reviews/approvals for internal & external suppliers during PDP & Quality reporting between M5 and M6
- Exchange knowledge and information with other Hydrostatics facilities to ensure best practices are both shared and implemented throughout the Hydrostatics organization
Act as a catalyst for changing the mindsets from one of reactively measuring the product to one of proactively monitoring the process for optimized performance and quality.
Background & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Required (Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- More than 5 years of experience (Automotive and/or Manufacturing industry experience a plus)
- Six Sigma certified
- Solid knowledge of statistics
- ISO/IATF Core Tools
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Prior Quality experience in related industries including Construction and Agricultural Machinery
- Experience working in a product launch environment
- Strong communications skills – ability to effectively work with all levels of personnel both internal and external including shop floor employees, management and customers
