Danfoss Drives is looking for a Lead Power Electronics Architect to the further development of our product range.

We have very strong design tools and test facilities in-house, and you can look forward joining a highly technical and competent team within a multicultural environment. We are working in co-located cross-functional Product Development teams applying Agile principles. You will work in close cooperation with colleges from Development, Product Management and Supply Chain. You will be based in Graasten and should anticipate 5-10 traveling days per year.

 

You will join the Danfoss Drives Division in Graasten and become part of the Compliance & Systems Engineering team of 15 colleagues in DK. We are responsible for development of power electronics in high performance standalone frequency converters in low to medium power range (0-90 kW).

Job Responsibilities

As our new Lead Power Electronics Architect, your main responsibilities are defining Product Architecture and Reuse strategy and setting Technology direction for design and platform solutions across Product portfolio / Product families. Ensuring the right trade-off between commonality and variance across verticals and tiers.

 

In corporation with the Mechanical-, Control Electronics- and Software-Architect, you will define the functional deployment within the Product family/ies; including architectural decomposition, and module & interface definition. You will have to collect and process (and challenge if needed) architecture-relevant input from key stakeholders in the organization about e.g., product specifications and manufacturing strategy.

 

Furthermore.

  • Prepare map of modules to be developed in accordance with desired product offering and internal constraints
  • Ensure the integrity of the Platform through alignment and decision making in e.g., Architect Forum/Fora
  • Ensure creation and maintenance of Platform documentation — and making it visible and understood for the organization
  • Participate in relevant refinement meetings With Product and Development team to support backlog breakdown and sprint planning
  • Follow and influence Technology development (ext. + int.) and outline technology solutions in Product Teams

 

You are responsible for "how" the products are built up, while the one of your colleagues, the Technical Product Owner are responsible for "what" the performance and features of the products must be.

Background & Skills

You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Power electronics or similar, and you have +8 years working experience with development of power electronics, preferable frequency converters.

You are passioned about power electronics and developing products, all the way from idea to final product, that will be produced in our factory. You have flair and natural interest & focus on simulation driven development, applying PSpice circuit simulation, Matlab/Simulink for system analysis/simulation and relevant Ansys packages for more advanced component/board/system simulations.
