Job Description
At Danfoss Silicon Power we are currently looking for an Electronics Design Engineer (m/f/d) for our R&D team at the office in Ismaning, Munich area, Germany. In this role, you will work with both, hardware and software aspects of control electronic systems required for power electronic converters and related topics.
Job Responsibilities
As part of the R&D team you will work with diverse applications and will support and start new designs. The work includes testing early prototypes in low voltage laboratory and supporting commissioning in the high voltage lab. The application fields include industrial drives, off-highway vehicles, and electric cars. You will interact with specialists in different areas and conceive cost-effective and performing solutions matching the customer needs.
Responsibilities will include to identify project requirements in close cooperation with other team members and to develop new basic concepts for the control electronics of switching components and control systems. You will create schematics and layouts with ECAD tools like Altium and Cadence including documentation and manufacturing instructions. Further, you will master the signal conditioning and HW adaptation aspects interfacing high voltage and high current electronics with low voltage signal electronics. You will program embedded systems in languages like VHDL and C as well as prepare and execute experiments in our lab. Along these processes you continuously document and review your work with other team members.
Background & Skills
For this position you hold a university degree in the field of Electronics and bring some years of work experience within an R&D industry environment. You understand the challenges of designing electronics for rough environments in proximity of high voltage switching converters. Additionally, we are looking for:
- Good knowledge of PCB designs and ECAD tools, preferably Cadence
- Experience with commercial FPGA coding (design flows, architectures, memory handling, interfacing) including Microsemi and Xilinx (VHDL or Verilog coding)
- Experience designing analog/digital circuits and embedded programming using C
- Experience troubleshooting, testing, and analysing circuits using laboratory equipment
- Matlab/Simulink, HDL coder, Python and LabView programming skills are a plus
- Knowledge in EMC pre-compliance including design for applicable standards and
- testing is a plus
- Good communication skills and positive attitude understanding the constraints and realities of project execution in an international environment
- Fluent English skills required, German skills are a plus
