Procurement Manager, New Product Development (m/f/d)

Job Description

Even though you will join the RAC Procurement Team, your actual base of operations will be within an array of cross-functional core teams. As our next procurement manager, you will work project-oriented and help to deliver the framework for our new product development processes.

Working 3-4 projects at a time, you will connect stakeholders from the very beginning of the process. When a new product idea is born, and the first sketch is made, you act as the link between the engineer and potential suppliers, making sure that our product has the best chance of coming to life. This process is continuous and can potentially involve other colleagues, locally and globally, depending on the product.

Additionally, you:

  • Locate potential suppliers and analyse potential component and logistics costs and opportunities.
  • Take lead in supplier selection and negotiation.
  • Secure early supplier interaction and involvement.
  • Deliver complete transitions to colleagues from R&D, who will be responsible for the supply chain process in the future.
  • Plan, delegate and prioritize Procurement activities.
     

Your projects are globally oriented and done in collaboration with the rest of the core team, typically consisting of representatives from R&D, supply chain and engineering as well as a project manager. 
 

Background & Skills

If you have an outgoing personality and a knack for driving projects forward you might be the one to ensure our procurement process is based on a solid framework. You shouldn’t be afraid of making mistakes or asking for help either.

You have a large stakeholder focus, and thus your interpersonal skills are key. This will benefit you, when you combine them with a team spirit as you will fit our agile workflow perfectly becoming a part of different units working towards unanimous goals. 

Additionally, we imagine that you possess:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in working with procurement and have a solid cross functional business interpretation.
  • Work experience being a part of- or leading project teams.
  • Technical flair and understanding of product drawings and from electronics business would be an advantage.
  • Comprehensive and fluent English language skills.
