Job Description

For the expansion of our leadership team in Danfoss Heat Exchangers, within the gasketed and welded heat exchangers business, and with direct report to the Vice President, we are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Director - Sales and Business Development. 


With your up-to-date knowledge about sales and developing global businesses, within the heat exchangers industry, you are leading the Global Sales and Business Development team, the Global Calculation and Application team, the US Sales team as well as the After Sales Service team in Denmark.

Together with these teams you are responsible for building and executing on the global sales strategy, and you and your teams will have a strong cooperation with regional and country sales leaders in the global sales organization within Danfoss Climate Solutions to aim for success.

 

A major part of the job is relation building with key customers in the industry, monitoring and managing global project sales pipelines, as well as maintaining and developing daily sales in the individual countries. This requires strong interpersonal and impactful communication skills for negotiations, presentations, and customer events as well as active participation in trade fairs and exhibitions. Combined, your efforts will further consolidate our many long-term customer relations and build up new profitable ones with key customers.

 

When finding new global key customers and partners, you can cooperate with piers from our other product businesses. This will grant easier access, as the customers already have strong relations with Danfoss. At the same time, we want to become a valuable partner, when we provide more complete solutions in line with our Vertical Segmentation Strategy.

Job Responsibilities

    • You define and drive the Global Sales Development Strategy with focus on large-scale project sales as well as daily sales for gasketed and welded heat exchangers
    • You identify, win, maintain, and expand relationship with attractive key accounts and major global partners operating across countries and regions
    • In close cooperation with our regional and country sales leaders, you develop project sales and increase our share of wallet and profitability with the selected KA and partners
    • You develop and maintain governance models, tools and processes that enable project & KA sales in regions and markets to negotiate and make the right decisions with markets and customers
    • You work closely with central Climate Solutions Global Marketing and Sales Excellence to ensure that best sales practices and sales promoting activities and tools are deployed
    • In close cooperation with finance you are responsible for pricing and secure the monitoring and follow-up on KPIs and financials
    • As a member of the leadership team in Gasketed and Welded Heat Exchangers, you provide ideas and take on challenges across the business that serve the common goal to increase profitable growth

Background & Skills

Ideally, you hold a university degree in economics or engineering and has a solid leadership track with 10+ years of experience in international sales roles i.e. with large scale project or OEM sales and minimum 5+ years of experience and a proven track record within senior customer relationship building and developing global key accounts. Furthermore, it is essential that you have:

  • A solid experience from working in large global organizations and operating effectively in a matrix with several stakeholders
  • A solid experience with working and creating strong results across cultures and countries
  • A straightforward, easy going and pragmatic personality
  • A visionary and collaborative leadership style
  • The ability to involve, inspire and develop people
  • Analytical skills and the ability to promote fact-based actions
  • Full fluency in oral and written English. Speaking a Scandinavian language would be beneficial
  • You will work out of our future Danfoss Campus in Kolding (DK) and travel in average 60 days per year
