Job Description

For a vacant position in Danfoss Climate Solutions, we are in search of a Production Supervisor. The candidate will be responsible for optimizing the production line and supervising the production of heat exchanger components i.e. plates and welded plate cassettes at our factory at Marsvej in Kolding (DK). The candidate will report to the Operations Director for Denmark and be a member of the Heat Exchangers (HEX) Supply Chain DK Management team.

 

Heat Exchanger – a business with high potential

Danfoss Heat Exchangers Division with brazed, gasketed and welded heat exchangers is a priority business for Danfoss with a high growth potential. From a Supply Chain point of view, the Production supervisor has the following key priorities:

  • Optimize and supervise the production line for heat exchanger components
  • Ensure cooperation with Planning, Sourcing, Development and Tooling functions to secure on-time and quality production
  • Ensure optimal production flows and efficient manning of the presses and welding lines
  • Further develop the safety and quality awareness of the staff
  • Budget, prioritize and follow up on the use of resources
  • Develop documentation to secure compliance with Danfoss operation standards and procedures

Job Responsibilities

In summary the candidate will be responsible for an effective production flow, using the optimal machinery and resources to ensure high quality products. This includes mainly: further development and optimization of the production line as well as a sound implementation of best in class production line principles and processes.

Essential areas of the role are:

  • Supervise to deliver high quality products, achieve optimal production flow and delivery on time. Provide technical advice and guidance to the team; pursue opportunities for efficiency improvement and further development. Develop a culture of accountability and grow production line efficiency.
  • Develop capability and production flow optimization skills among staff to increase output as well as support the various teams in performing at best. Ensure appropriate training programs with continuous learning.
  • Develop practices for documented production flow standards around best practices and using lessons learned.
  • Develop and implement processes and tools for production line tasks consistent with industry best practices. Monitor to assure adherence to defined processes.
  • Continuous follow up and improvement of resource usage, machine efficiency, component handling and flow - including process documentation and quality standards as well as budgeting and resource planning. Identify key production line metrics, monitor performance and implement improvements accordingly
  • Ensure that the production flow is competitive with respect to cost performance, quality, and reliability. Maintain visibility to and relationships with key stakeholders, to develop stronger relations based on fulfilling expectations.
  • Participate in production line knowledge sharing across Operations in HEX. Ensure that potential synergies across production sites are identified and turned into large scale efficiency gains in the HEX Supply Chain.

Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and Production Management or similar qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with supervising production lines and technical support
  • Excellent Danish and English written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills as well as the ability to work closely with different stakeholders and develop team members
  • Experience with technical development projects and introduction of new product lines including required systems, processes documentation and tools
  • Experience from implementation of Lean and Optimization tools for production are of advantage

 

A technical oriented supervisor with hands-on abilities

The ideal candidate could currently be a production team leader, production supervisor or an experienced engineer with a solid experience from leading production optimization projects. A good track record of results and the wish to step up with a larger team and responsibility is required.

It is essential that you have a strong optimization focus and an execution mindset combined with the ability to follow through on how we optimize the production flow.

Further it would be an advantage if you have good analytical skills, an the ability to see and explain the bigger picture as well as the ability to combine interests of multiple stakeholders.
