Job Description

Danfoss Editron is strengthening its Quality team and is in the search of an experienced Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer to our office in Lappeenranta, Finland. In this position you will make sure that our Suppliers will reach the Danfoss Quality standards. The most important stakeholder groups for you will be Suppliers, Procurement and Engineering. This position requires travelling, both domestic and abroad.

Job Responsibilities

As our new Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: 

 

  • Fact-based feedback to Sourcing Project Manager - permission to start (or stop) project: specifications clear, supplier ready, resources available etc.
  • Leading PMR (Pre-manufacturing review) meetings, template distribution, pre-work data collection, PMR meeting facilitation, documenting identified actions and dates
  • PPAP worksheet creation, being at the supplier for the on-site PPAP run off, follow-up and correction of identified gaps
  • Managing APQP with selected high-risk suppliers / parts
  • Detailed process capability and MSA gage studies for identified important features by using data from existing similar parts and processes
  • Ensuring all aspects of the PPAP requirements from Danfoss are clearly defined, are understood by the supplier, the supplier completes all documents thoroughly, and the PPAP submission meets all Danfoss expectations
  • Reviewing all steps from the process flow, verifying PFMEA, control plans, etc. to verifying compliance to submitted PPAP
  • Conducting product and process audits at pre-launch stage to identify gaps and risks, and ensuring suppliers implement actions to close gaps before launch
  • Controlling and implementing controlled ship levels as required to contain quality issues after launch

Background & Skills

To succeed in this position, we expect you to have 5+ years of Supplier Quality experience in a manufacturing environment. You are familiar with quality tools such as PPAP, APQP, MSA etc. Having an Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Electrical) is a good asset but furthermore we appreciate right attitude combined with the willingness to learn. Your negotiation and communication skills are excellent, and you will flexibly find ways to reach the Quality goals. You communicate effortlessly in English, both written and spoken. Finnish is beneficial to master. Your approach is proactive, and you smoothly work with different stakeholders, internally and externally.
