Danfoss Procurement is looking for an experienced and self-driven Regional Category Manager to join our team within the Turned and Hot Stamped Parts category. You will be located in either Nordborg (DK), Kolding (DK), or Ljubljana (SL) and should expect 10-30 days of business travel per year (mainly to our key suppliers and stakeholders). Job Responsibilities

As our new Regional Category Manager, you will develop and implement the category strategy for Turned and Hot Stamped Parts across the European region while developing strong relations with key internal and external stakeholders. You will be entrusted with the responsibility for managing a small selected number of high spend suppliers that has high attention from the top management in Danfoss.


This position will give you an exciting growth opportunity to define, implement, lead and coordinate category strategy activities in Europe. Your key tasks, will be to:

  • Accelerate cost-down impact from suppliers 
  • Drive and execute a sustainable savings pipeline across all levers 
  • Develop and implement supplier strategy for own suppliers 
  • Research trends within technology incl. how other industries impact the sub-category e.g., late point definition, automation, supply, pricing, investments
  • Take full and proactive responsibility for supplier performance 
  • Lead supplier relationship, acting as the Danfoss key account 
  • Manage supplier development activities
  • Understand the Danfoss business needs and the commodity market impacts.
     

Background & Skills

To be considered for this role, you should have substantial category management experience within mechanical engineering.  We imagine that you hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree within Commercial or Mechanical Engineering. Based on your professional experience you have gained knowledge within the mechanical field topped with solid commercial understanding. But more importantly, you have solid direct category management experience from an international company – ideally managing high spend suppliers.

 

As a person, you are driven, combined with a strong appetite for keeping momentum on strategic development of your category. You are able to use your diplomatic, negotiation and networking skills without losing people on the way. We’d love to see that you can also add value with your ability to navigate safely in complex relations, while working both independently and within cross-functional teams. Last, but not least, the successful candidate will show proactivity and a can-do attitude with high commitment to results and people relations.
