Job Description

The BU Sales Manager is responsible for the development of the Off-highway Electrification business in the Americas region, leading the regional BU Sales Team as well as managing some direct accounts. The BU Sales Team will work in close collaboration with the Danfoss Power Solutions Sales & Marketing team. The BU Sales Manager is expected to accelerate the growth in Americas executing the global strategy and to contribute developing the go-to-market strategy for Americas region. 
The position gives an excellent view on Electrification and an opportunity to join one of the biggest revolutions in the Off-highway industry in a great team.  
 

Job Responsibilities

•    Lead the BU Sales Team in Americas, comprising Sales Development Managers and System Engineers (technical sales) 
•    Further develop the team and acquire more talents with the relevant competence 
•    Primary commercial and technical contact for Danfoss account management teams in the Americas
•    Develop the Off-highway Electrification business in the  Americas region with 
o    the customers where Danfoss Power Solutions is present (in co-operation with the Account Team)
o    new customers.
•    Develop the go-to-market strategy for Off-highway Electrification in Americas considering the available sales channels: direct OEM, Distribution, other Danfoss Segments
•    Actively develop the Distribution sales and propose new Partners
•    Actively join customer visits to promote the Editron technology.
•    Deal with customer issues head-on and in a timely manner.
•    Manage the direct accounts owned by Business Unit 
•    Define the focus segments and applications for Off-highway Electrification in Americas, and propose Win Plans to access the market 
•    Contribute to the global Off-highway Electrification strategy as a member of the Sales Leadership Team
•    Collect the product requirements to the Division Product Management (PDP front-end/VoC)
•    Support and contribute to the System and Solution development activities at the Application Development Centre in Ames, IA
•    Provide the necessary reports and forecasts for the Americas region, supported by the global Sales Controller
•    Prepare the sales and cost budget for the region and follow the relevant KPIs actively.  
•    Contribute to the pricing strategy to ensure the profitability of the BU. 
•    Maintain the sales related data in CRM (Salesforce) and other relevant tools. 
•    Develop the team objectives and driving a metric -based process that inspires performance, and accountability.

Background & Skills

To be considered for this position, you will need the following:
•    Leadership skills and experience 
•    Proven experience and track record in B2B sales or sales/business development (10+ years), and a customer-oriented mindset
•    Ability to strategically target opportunities, including product extensions, customers, and sales channels
•    Experience in off-highway mobile equipment (e.g. construction machines), commercial vehicles or other relevant business  
•    A degree in engineering (electrical engineering preferred). A degree in other field with a combination of extensive work experience on a relevant field can be considered 
•    Experience in electric drive systems and/or electromobility will be an asset 
•    A strong focus on metrics, data and financial results 
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•    Excellent English skills, both in writing and in speech 
•    Language skills supporting the sales in South America will be an asset
•    Willingness to travel 
•    Passion for Electrification

Travel Requirements
•    Domestic travel in the Americas region as needed to meet customers and to support sales development activities
•    Travel to Europe or other location for global team meetings and trade shows (twice a year)
