Danfoss Editron has an exciting opportunity for a Project Controller where you will develop, implement, and sustain R&D Controlling framework for creating transparency and follow-up for our project portfolio. You will be a Business Partner for our Programs & Portfolio team, secure Government Funding reporting and support new opportunities. The Project Controller will own the Business case methodology and training across Editron.
This position will be based in either Longmont, CO or Edinburgh, UK.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Create business cases with project leaders and evaluate new projects
  • Perform analysis and follow-up on project performance. Keep Program and Portfolio leader and divisional controller updated in case of big deviations to budget/forecast
  • Ensure that deviations to budget/forecast are analyzed and corrective action is put in place
  • Present financial performance results and KPI's to BU, divisional and segment management.        
  • Challenge R&D leaders to ensure profitable growth. Participate in due diligence / portfolio management meetings on PDP business cases        
  • Work with the different departments on improving results and understanding and helping to close these gaps.
  • Ensure & support financial training in selected areas such as: profitable growth, cost accounting, financial awareness plus subject matter expert on business case methods. 
  • Ensure that agreed KPI's are performed, analyzed and submitted to corporate on time
  • Participate in financial due diligence and integration in case of M&A's - specifically for M&A's heavy in R&D investments
  • Participate in Group projects related to the financial area, such as reporting, system implementations, new ERP projects etc.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecast for the Projects including reviewing, assessing and modelling future business initiatives.
  • Cooperation with specific teams and external consultant for supporting the decision-making process.
     

Background & Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or similar is required, Masters is preferred. Any other certification in finance and accounting will be highly valued. 
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience preferred; project controlling in industrial, automotive or aerospace industries required
  • Deep understanding of product life cycles and business case creation

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP & Hyperion (or other large ERP system) experience
  • Proficiency with Excel and Business Objects
  • High level of ambition and a track record of driving continuous improvement in a global industrial setting
  • Able to be effective in a matrix organization, including influencing stakeholders

 

Compensation range for this role is $110,000-$125,000
