We are looking for a creative and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to perform tasks and provide technical leadership and support at all stages of full lifecycle product development for electric machines (motors) and electric converters (inverters/controllers) at our facility in Longmont, Colorado, USA.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support New Product Development projects by being a Workstream lead/ Technical project lead. 
    • Perform design analysis (including but not limited to)
      • Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) or similar
      • Component and/or assembly analysis (hand calculations or simulation)
      • Engineering material property research and analysis
    • Create/review mechanical designs (2D/3D CAD)
    • Create/review product requirements
    • Generate design validation specifications and testing requirements
    • Generate Engineering reports and documentation
    • Conduct Engineering application research
    • Prepare project estimation data (scope, effort, cost, timing)
    • Evaluate product performance, reliability, and safety

Background & Skills

Required (basic) qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field 
  • 7 years or more experience in related field

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced degrees (or specific degrees if not required above), additional preferred work experiences (supervision/leadership, manufacturing environment, multinational company)
  • Experience with rotating machinery (shaft, bearing systems, enclosure structural and thermal design)
  • Significant experience with the specification, analysis and testing of Engineering materials
  • Demonstrated ability to lead major projects
  • Experience leading multi-geographical and/or virtual teams

Compensation Data

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $100,00-$120,000/year. Base salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
