Danfoss in Longmont, CO is seeking an enthusiastic Sourcing Project Manager to join our diverse team. You will lead source teams, analysts, and other project teams to secure contractual agreements to meet business needs; you will lead supplier simplification and execution on activities to optimize productivity and quality and fulfillment through strategic supplier relationships. Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global partners to ensure the optimization of direct materials going into product manufacturing. Lead development/execution of strategic sourcing initiatives for direct materials and services to ensure optimal quality, cost productivity, fulfillment. 
  • First point of contact for escalation of vendor issues affecting Supply Chain, Quality, and Plant Operations.
  • Lead project execution with cross functional project teams, local and global. End-to-end responsibility to lead, manage, and facilitate business unit projects which related with external suppliers including domestic and overseas projects. This includes successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of the projects. Assist in negotiating and creating supplier agreements (RFIs, RFQs, NDA’s, Purchase, Logistics and Price agreements).
  • Strategic development of key suppliers related to the manufacturing of motor, controller, and compressor segments. Includes specific procurement activities related to regionalized / localized / international materials, including castings, magnets, magwire, plastic parts, machined, lamination stacks, cable assemblies, and printed circuit board assemblies. 
  • Lead and support supplier search and qualification as well as taking part in the Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP). Update systems with contract information and administer drawing specification to suppliers.
  • Proactively drive spend analysis activities identifying strategic sourcing opportunities within assigned categories. Develop both short and long-term strategy discussions concerning applicable direct materials and services.
  • Estimate values according to knowledge of market price and create cost break down and target cost for selected products.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable products or services with inspection or quality control personnel, customers, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action. 
  • Effective and proactive liaison with other relevant functions/departments to identify and implement projects and other relevant purchasing items. Building and developing strong and mutually beneficial partnerships with internal stakeholders and our key suppliers.

Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, or related business degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Relevant experience in automotive or aerospace procurement preferred.
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience in supply chain or strategic sourcing. Experience sourcing castings, composites, and/or metals as well as reading and interpreting basic print information and engineering drawings and schematics strongly preferred.
  • Ability to create relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple functions (R&D, Product Management, Supply Chain). Able to represent Danfoss Procurement topics concisely, strongly, and fairly to vendor and to internal customers.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with ability to challenge stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry best practices for GD&T.
  • A high level of practical understanding of strategic sourcing, supplier management, and project management.  ISM CPSM certification preferred, but not necessary.
  • Quick learner and self-motivated with ability to multi-task across several projects while responding to tactical issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong PC computer skills, especially in MS Office, TeamCenter PLM and SAP ERP knowledge.
  • Ability to obtain passport and travel as needed to meet business objectives.     

Compensation Data

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85,000-$106,000/year. Base salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
