Job Description
Danfoss in Loves Park, IL is searching for an Approval Engineering Intern for the Summer 2023 term. The intern will gain experience and assist in various electrical/mechanical engineering activities including test fixture design, test apparatus design and approvals support materials.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Develop, collaborate, and oversee design of High-Power lab test fixture.
- Work with Lab Short Circuit calculation software to update the new lab circuit.
- Participate in lab safety audits as a team member and design a KPI tracking system for audit results.
- Work with the Lab Engineer to setup and support High Potential cart with needed materials.
- Participate in Approvals activities as a team member.
- The laboratory environment includes 3-phase high voltage systems, 0-690 Volts, 2000 amps. Lock Out/Tag Out and Arc Flash training is provided.

Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with Sophomore status or higher.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong technical writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively through written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
