Danfoss, a global market leader in Climate & Energy has an opening in its Loves Park, Illinois factory for an Electrical Test Engineer Supervisor. Job Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, evaluates, and improves test equipment and systems for testing current and future products.
  • Represents production test on new R&D projects.
  • Interacts with Quality and Manufacturing Engineers during new product introductions and as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyzes and plans capacity requirements and designs layout of equipment for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data and data interpretation.
  • Confers with suppliers to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding test capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Analyzes and applies statistical methods to test data for quality improvements.

 

Background & Skills

Basic Minimum Skills Required
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.

•    5+ years related experience

•    Experience with data acquisition, automation, application design, test hardware and software development.

•    Electrical schematic design skills (AutoCAD, E-plan)

•    Basic mechanical skills and hands on experience in building test fixtures

•    Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW, Test Stand and other NI products.

•    Position requires excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 
•    Ability to actively participate in and facilitate group meetings and training sessions.

Preferred Skills
•    Strong interpersonal skills for both internal and external communication and cooperation.
•    Electronic drives/frequency converter assembly, test, quality.
•    Basic database knowledge
•    Project participation experience preferred
•    Experience with Leak Testing.
•    Good knowledge of power electronics and electrical machines (AC-motors)
•    Six Sigma - Green Belt Certification
•    International travel will be required.
