Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for a ​Supplier Quality Technician ​to join us at our diverse team in Loves Park. A Supplier Quality Technician performs a variety of duties in regard to evaluating and improving the quality of purchased components from external suppliers.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Responsible for the reactive components of supplier quality. (i.e. Defect analysis, Supplier communication, RMA, 8D)
  • Communication and escalation when necessary.
  • Support supplier quality strategy.
  • Support incoming quality activity.
  • Review supplier quality issues or complaints.
  • Support communication between SQM and the supplier.
  • Arrange appropriate sorting activities to support production.
  • Issue RMA requests and process.
  • Issue Corrective Action/8D reports.
  • Issue and track Cost of Poor Quality.
  • Work with suppliers, Supply Chain and PEC for the least amount of interruption.
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineers for long term solutions

 

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • Two-year Engineering/Technical Degree or equivalent experience – minimum five years solid hands-on experience working with supplier quality.
  • GD&T blueprint knowledge.
  • Root cause problem solving/diagnostic capabilities.
  • ISO 9000, TS 16949 and IATF 16949 knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Six sigma tools and concepts.  Computer skills, (Microsoft Office, PLC, SAP)
  • Customer Service mindset and the ability to stay calm under pressure are necessary traits.
  • Has demonstrated good and broad communication skills.
  • Ability to learn PCBA, sheet metal, injection moulding and electronic component requirements.
  • Meticulous and take pride in following tasks through while maintaining a solid overview.
  • Thrive in a job where you alternate between independent work and teamwork.
  • Analytical mind-set, and eagerness to obtain new knowledge and further develop skills
