Job Description

Danfoss in Loves Park, Illinois is searching for a Tech Support Specialist to join their team. The indiviudal must have strong communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and experience in the Drives, Power Electronics, or Automation industry in order to best provide techncial support to Danfoss Drives customers. 

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Providing technical support to DDS customers, mainly via phone and email.
  • Develop and maintain a proficient level of product and application knowledge.
  • Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve system issues.
  • Taking ownership of customer technical issues reported and following problems through to resolution.
  • Giving general technical support, commissioning and finding solutions in cooperation with Applications/AMS team.
  • Identifying and channeling quality issues together with the quality team, collecting data and making reports.
  • Supporting equipment repair process and advising partners/customers on spare parts and other after sales issues.
  • Supervising external service partners as part of Danfoss service procedures.
  • Working with service engineers to visit customers if required to solve problems.
  • Handling and organizing post-sales customer queries and claims in ticketing and SAP systems.
  • Aid in the process of, and communicate, failure analysis and root cause identification for drive equipment.
  • When required conduct equipment repair according to the defined process and report actions done. Test equipment functionality, safety and other needed features.
  • When needed, provide repair reports and develop repair/service instructions in cooperation with team.
  • Promoting DDS products and DrivePro service products.
Background & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Electronics Engineering, or a demonstrable mix of Associate degree (in relevant field) and suitable drive-related experience.
  • Min. 3 years of experience in Drives, Power Electronics or Automation industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Proficient in MS Office basic applications, and general tech-savviness.
  • Analytical mindset with strong planning and self-learning skills.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal savvy.
  • Customer and service-oriented mindset.
  • Action-oriented and good team player.
  • Have a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Highly organized, high degree of self-motivation and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and time demands effectively.
  • Native, or Advanced (proficient) English (ability to understand technical terminology and to communicate).
  • Desirable:
  • SAP and/or Salesforce background is a plus.
  • Able to travel when required (<10%) is a plus.
  • Past experience in fast-paced technical support environment is a plus.
