Job Description

The primary function of the Applications Engineer is performing a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions pertaining to Fluid Conveyance products and multiple unique customer applications.  The Applications Engineer identifies company products, determining feasibility and costs for specific customer applications and quotations. Identifies new product development opportunities and pursues opportunities to create new industry designs. Focuses on improving sales growth, product fit, and utilizing company profit margin targets to produce a product and quotation that will win business.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Ability to layout multiple projects and manage timelines and milestones appropriately that meet customer’s expectations.  Accomplish daily tasks without any guidance from a supervisor and/or manager
  • Translates customer requirements into internal designs using existing company design standards.
  • Establishes BOMs, calculates component costs and performs competitive analysis to determine market price levels.
  • Develops strong communication contacts with product management, sales, manufacturing, and customer service.  Identified within and outside the team as a product and technical resource.
  • Leads and initiates process improvement teams to introduce new methods to improve current processes and procedures. 
  • Record of contributing to improvements in technical or project management processes (Ex.: Actively participate on Task Force Teams, Focus Groups, or Kaizen Teams, etc.).

Background & Skills

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • 1+ years experience or internship experience in Engineering
  • Experience using MS Office Tools

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering
  • Education in Business administration as an advantage.
  • Experienced in reading and drafting drawings in CAD software, preferred in PRO-E.
  • Demonstrated pursuit and use of training/education (Ex.: Green Belt, 5S, Fault Tree, Project Management, MS Project, IFPS, Knowledge of Multiple Product Lines, etc.).
  • Active in technical community.

 

Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship, both now and in the future.
