Shipping Receiving Clerk

Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for a ​Shipping Receiving Clerk ​to join us at our diverse team in Milwaukee, WI.   The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for shipping a wide variety of products to both internal and external customer sites to meet a promised arrival date. 

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Produces and reviews proper shipping paperwork for carriers or forwarding agents and enters correct shipment data into SAP. 

  • Ensures items are properly packaged for mode of shipment. 

  • Follows pick list to gather parts for shipment (including the use of fork or hand truck). 

  • Logs shipments to allow for payment approval of freight bills. 

  • Receives cross-training from Material Control Attendants as determined by supervisor. 

  • General assistance as required (shipping tracers, etc.). 

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.

  • Prior shipping experience is required. 

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training. 

  • Experience in use of personal computers and related programs (Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel). 

  • Experience in SAP – both P02 and P16 on running reports and creating shipping documents. 

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees in the organization. 

  • Able to process and interpret export documentation.  Able to function well in a team or group environment. 

  • Able to understand and be involved in the collection of pertinent data. 

  • Includes periodic overtime or off-shift hours to assure appropriate levels of customer service.
