Job Description

Danfoss is seeking a motivated, reliable, and responsive Product Manager in our Minneapolis, MN location. The Product Manager provides strategic direction for their products and services in their area of responsibility. They formulate long-range plans, keeping the organization focused on market needs. They manage pricing, promotion, and placement of the products throughout their life cycle. The Product Manager works with Sales & Marketing and Business Unit Sales personnel to initiate and coordinate actions that are intended to grow and maintain a successful simulation products and services business.

You will be committed to making a difference and will focus on defining and prioritizing our simulation products and services product roadmap.
Using your business acumen and software knowledge, you will lead the evolution of our simulation products and services in a global marketplace. 

 

Job Responsibilities

•    Complete product lifecycle definition, launch, and management of our simulation products and services 
•    Coordinate and champion the simulation road map
•    Compile market needs for new products using tools like QFDs, panel of experts and other voice of the customer methods 
•    Develop market analysis to assess market information, market trends, market share analysis, and competitive analysis
•    Assess market needs and opportunities for new products and services through research and feasibility analysis, including identification of potential acquisitions
•    Champion business case development for new products and services
•    Management & Ownership of the Market specification and Market/Sales plan, pricing, and launch coordination for new Products 
•    Initiates product promotion with Market Communications, emphasizing the message about the benefits of the product and the overall value proposition to be successful in every channel to the market
•    Develop and maintain market development plan, including participation in relevant trade shows & conferences, along with developing and maintaining positive relationships with internal Danfoss teams and external customers

 

Background & Skills

•    Bachelor’s degree in in Engineering or Marketing or Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
•    3 to 5 years work experience required with detailed knowledge of software, software applications, and simulation products/methods.  Knowledge of electric or electronic component systems is a plus.
•    Knowledge of key IT tools (MS Office applications, Salesforce) 
•    Ability to work effectively in a high quality, deadline driven environment
•    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a team
•    Global mindset and excellent communication skills to efficiently communicate across all levels in the organization.
•    Good time management and project management skills to organize and plan effectively
•    Energetic, willing to find compromises between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests 
•    Proactive, motivated, and self-driven
•    Knowledge of the Danfoss target markets and applications with a broad knowledge of the sales process is a plus
