We are seeking a Sourcing Project Manager in our Plymouth, MN site. As a valued member of Danfoss Power Solutions, the Sourcing Project Manager is part of a procurement organization working with complex sourcing. This person will be supporting our Project managers and Supply Chain globally and act as a link between our New Product Development teams, Procurement and suppliers. There are long-standing relationships with many of the suppliers, and your job will be to help them in their work with pipelines, capacity, components in end of life, etc.

Job Responsibilities

  • Direct and implement the global sourcing strategy.
  • Build relationships with internal key stake holders to establish best sourcing solutions at both the regional and global level.
  • Develop global sourcing policies and procedures to drive consistency and optimal utilization of competitive bidding process, negotiations, and terms and conditions requirements to achieve desired results across all regions.
  • Participate in new product development projects assuring early involvement of our development suppliers and insure frontloading of the right technology and production platform according to IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Lead all Commodities and New Product Development initiatives.
  • Experience as Electronics & Electronic Manufacturing Services specialist in securing time-to market for new product development projects by keeping close contact to suppliers.
  • Participating in re-design projects and ensure implementation according to IATF 16949 requirements (Change Control, PPAP, etc.)
  • Identifying, visualizing and mitigating potential risks
  • Providing an extra hand to logistics, when needed, regarding questions related to suppliers
  • Working closely with global category managers and project managers to initiate, design and execute projects while meeting quality and cost goals

Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or other relevant area. Otherwise you have professional knowledge within the field
  • 5 years procurement / sourcing experience
  • Experience demonstrating a solid track record of meeting aggressive objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high quality, deadline driven environment.
  • Broad knowledge of the procurement function as well as a high degree of knowledge of cost drivers, market dynamics, and supplier relationships in driving cost reductions.
  • Experience with Strategic Sourcing, Negotiation, Supplier Evaluation, Commercial Contract Understanding, Risk Mitigation, Commodity Market
  • Proven leadership ability to coach associates, manage functional teams while promoting teamwork, delegation, individual responsibility and positive employee morale.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.
  • Global mindset and excellent communication skills to efficiently communicate across all levels in the organization.
  • Good time management and project management skills to organize and plan effectively in developing effective systems and processes.
