Job Description

Under the general supervision of the supply chain manager, the MRO/Indirect buyer will be responsible for purchases of all indirect materials and MRO parts for the facility. The buyer plays an integral role in the supply chain by developing and maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring the availability, best price and quality of indirect materials and MRO parts.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Create purchase orders for indirect items, MRO, and packaging as assigned.
  • Negotiate supply and service agreements with suppliers for indirect items, MRO, and packaging as assigned.
  • Entering and updating Vendor contact information.
  • Monitor existing orders to ensure on time deliveries
  • Communicate with vendors regarding delivery schedules, quality issues, and cost concerns
  • Expedite supplier orders as required to support production
  • Communicate supply chain information to other departments and management
  • Work with accounts payable to address issues to ensure timely payment to vendors

Background & Skills

Basic Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of buyer or procurement experience*
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics Management, or Enterprise Engineering will be considered equivalency to the 2 years of experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position.  Only candidates residing in the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of Mountain Home will be considered.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Prior purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • MRP/ERP experience.
     

Position Criteria:

  • Broad understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding Production Planning and Purchasing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts
  • Root Cause Problem Solving skills
