Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager (m/f/d) to join our Danfoss Power Solutions Software team.

 

The team and the business units are spread over different global locations. We are looking to expand the team in the Central European region (Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria & Switzerland). You do not have to be located at our office locations in the Central European Region; you can work out of home office.

Job Responsibilities

As our Project Manager, you are responsible to provide portfolio insights for Application Software and the Virtual Solutions Group. You will be working with Software teams, Business Unit Teams, Project Managers and Customers to drive portfolio review discipline, continuous improvement and portfolio health for Application and Virtual solutions programs. Provide clear and effective communication and presentations. Collaborate across time zones, with different engineering stakeholders and create a clear and accurate master plan at portfolio level. Additional tasks and responsibilities you can expect:

  • Generate timely and accurate portfolio reports for the application software and virtual solutions team. Maintain the health of the overall portfolio;
  • Provide insights of generated value for the portfolio. Help Business Units to identify impact;
  • Build and Support the Application Software leaders for maintaining the accurate data in project database;
  • Monitors overall monthly performance for actual against target, provide the forecast through various estimation techniques;
  • Support tracking status of milestones & deliverables. Change requests from internal/external customers;
  • Monitor Portfolio financials, sales thru put, NRE, long term sales impact on portfolio. Provide mitigation actions for portfolio to keep on track;
  • Maintain track of external supplier's deliverable timing and quality expectations;
  • Present Resource engagement, plan vs actual.

Background & Skills

For this position, you have completed a degree in engineering and bring a minimum of 6 years of work experience in portfolio management and preferably in electrical engineering, computer science and the software industry. Additionally, we are looking for:

  • Min 5 years of portfolio management experience, preferably in engineering and Software industry;
  • Experience with processes and tools for requirements management, change and configuration management;
  • Experience with software test methodologies and tools and development of test plans for software systems;
  • Knowledge of software quality assurance requirements (ex. Automotive SPICE) and how these requirements tie to the Quality Management System requirements (ex. IATF-16949) and the external auditing processes;
  • Experience with agile, iterative, waterfall and other software development methodologies;
  • Portfolio management certifications. Proficient in 3PM Optional, Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (CAPM or PMP) is recommended;
  • Knowledge of functional safety and development processes compliant to safety standards (ex. ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ISO13849, ISO 9001);
  • Proficient in SharePoint, MS Excel and other Business intelligence Software (e.g., Power BI, MS Access);
  • Good communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written, and leadership and collaborative skills; 
  • Able to draft reports and technical presentations to steer and inform teams and global stakeholders. Good understanding of project financials (optional)
  • You must be eligible to work in the EU region without company sponsorship, now or in the future;
  • Fluent language skills (in word and writing) for the English language.
