The Master Scheduler will plan the master scheduling of rubber hoses in the process area and rubber compounds in the rubber manufacturing area to ensure on-time distribution center delivery goals are achieved.   In addition, you will schedule demand using production line capacity utilization and maintain appropriate levels of inventory at the production plant and distribution centers to meet inventory value and DOH metrics.   The Master Scheduler plays an important role in supporting distribution centers to meet customer on-time delivery and will incorporate Lean/Continuous Improvement techniques and philosophies within Supply Chain continuity planning.    

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Use DSS tools / MFG-Pro to create an overall production plan over a specified time horizon which includes a list of part numbers, quantities, and due dates.
  • Develop and maintain accurate work center schedules that efficiently utilize resources within Capacity Planning while meeting the ERP system requirements.  Evaluate capacity, demand and material availability to ensure effective supply and demand balance.
  • Monitor work order on-time completion, schedule attainment, and schedule adherence rates.
  • Provide data and participate in Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning function.  
  • Coordinate the expediting of parts with Manufacturing to ensure Customer Focus and demand is met.
  • Consult with Demand Planning on future Marketing Forecasts and how to accomplish sales goals.
  • Support SCM in developing, implementing and monitoring global commodity strategies to achieve performance objectives, supplier optimization (cost, quality, delivery) to gain lowest total cost and meet divisional strategic plans.
  • Work effectively with customers to clarify requirements and negotiate solutions when constraints exist. 
  • Perform Problem solving and cross-functional skills. Promotes and champions change.
  • Manage cost reduction projects and improvement initiatives to achieve overall business objectives

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of two years supply chain experience or equivalent work experience.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four years of supply chain experience
  • Two years of production scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • APICS certification- Desired
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Monarch, and Word
  • ERP experience. MFG-Pro is strongly preferred
  • Strong administrative skills (organizational and time management)
  • Conflict management competencies. Problem solving and cross-functional skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Results and detail oriented
