Job Description

At Danfoss we are looking for a Category Manager (m/f/d) to join our global Procurement organization. If you are passionate about procurement, setting directions, working independently but within a global team to create impact and shape your area of responsibility by creating a sustainable strategy – this position is exactly what you are looking for! 
 

Preferably you will be located at our offices in Nordborg or Kolding, Denmark, or in Northern Germany or Poland (with some travelling required), combining remote and office work to fit your work-life balance preferences.  
 

Job Responsibilities

As our Category Manager your main responsibility will be the category “Packaging” which includes the responsibility for following:

  • Pallets, cardboard boxes, paper & plastic materials, but also labels and mounting kits.
  • Roll-out, development and maintenance of our global and regional suppliers and agreements.
  • Scoping and leading global and regional supplier sourcing activities and contract negotiations.
  • Involvement in technical change processes and improvement projects.
  • Development and implementation of the category strategy, monitoring, analyzing and quickly acting on market developments and trends.
  • Identifying saving opportunities and leading regular Supplier Review Meetings.
  • A close collaboration with our internal stakeholders.
     

You will be driving savings, productivity, and cost down initiatives cross-functionally, so a holistic business understanding is an advantage. At Danfoss, sustainability is at the top of our agenda and you will be setting the direction for your Category to continuously improve on the carbon footprint and move towards circularity.
 

Background & Skills

To be successful in this position, the candidate should have: 

  • A commercial degree at bachelor’s or master’s level topped with solid commercial understanding and insights in the wood, paper or packaging industry would be beneficial.
  • Relevant experiences within Procurement or Sales from an international production organization.
     

Additionally, we would like to see that you have:

  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • A persistent, result-orientated, and cross-functional approach.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and motivation to lead global as well as regional negotiations with our suppliers and stakeholders. 
  • Fluent English language skills: other languages (e.g. Danish) are beneficial.
  • Global business understanding.
