Responsibilities

  • Laboratory analysis of materials and fluids using a variety of analytical techniques e.g., FTIR, DSC and TGA.
  • Provide failure analysis and troubleshooting support to our customers, being responsible for the complete lifecycle of a task, from initial customer meetings to report delivery and follow up.
  • Adherence to and further development of the quality management systems, such as with uncertainty budgets, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Build and maintain a network of customers and experts within and externally to the organization to support in the efficient solving of tasks.

Background & Skills

We expect you to be a chemist/engineer/technician with experience in failure analysis. You have strong knowledge of organic chemistry with solid analytical skills for the characterization of complex organic materials (polymers, lubricants, coatings, adhesives), preferably from the use of FTIR for failure analysis and troubleshooting purposes.

Quality and quality management are a high priority for you. You have experience with quality management systems in a chemical laboratory, such as with the use of uncertainty budgets, writing of methods and SOP’s, and following calibration and maintenance schedules. You always seek a solution based on facts, data, and an analytical approach.

On a personal level, you are an excellent communicator with a positive and open mindset which means that you can easily build relationships to grow into a trusted advisor for our stakeholders. You are service-minded and proactive in determining goals and objectives and in pursuing the necessary course of action, whether that is for solving a challenging customer task or for pursuing your own development.

You interact effortlessly with all levels of the organisation, individually, in groups and across cultures, and sharing knowledge amongst your colleagues comes naturally to you. To support this your pace is high and you enjoy being proactive, well organized and solution orientated, prioritizing transparency, and urgency when necessary.
