In close collaboration with the plant leader, the Operations Leader for Steering will have full end-to-end value stream responsibility for the designated product line including all cost related to manufacturing (variable cost, fixed production cost, and CAPEX), the manufacturing strategy and daily process execution, productivity improvements, and the overall health and effectiveness of their regional organizations.

Danfoss Power Solutions is seeking a Manager, Operations Steering for our Danish plant located in Nordborg, Denmark.

Job Responsibilities

This position will have full end-to-end responsibility of all daily operations for the full hydraulic motor manufacturing with around 150-170 employees that covers all necessary functions. Supporting and continuously ensuring a highly effective and connected team that produces exceptional results, forming a culture that engages employees is central. Also creating an environment where people can grow and develop by inspiring a shared vision, which is communicated clearly. Additional job responsibility areas would be the following:
 

  • You lead by example and role models integrity and trust, hence creating a "Can Do" environment!
  • Continuously improves Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics (SQDC).
  • You contribute to BU/Plant strategy development and implementation.
  • Input on product development for manufacturing and operations concepts in line with strategic direction.
  • Instill Quality system / processes and mindset
  • Maintain market leading delivery performance and capacity planning
  • Ensure proper policies and procedures are followed, such as IATF, ISO 9001f, and the Danfoss Productivity Program (DPP).
  • Implement the operational excellence standards
  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategic plan for growth, manufacturing footprint, supply base, and outsourcing
  • Responsible for plant’s relationship to other Business Areas and Global Services
  • Cost reduction project selection and deployment, DPP projects

Background & Skills

  • Relevant education or degree in manufacturing or engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience preferably in an industrial environment with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Operational leadership and results 
  • Experience working in a global matrixed or otherwise complex environment
  • Ability to drive an operating system, product complexity and customer focus 
  • Lean transformation expertise and proven operational background to create manufacturing of the future.
  • Fluent in Danish, and high English level. Speaking German is not a requirement, but an advantage.
  • Exceptional and proven leadership skills with key focus on team development.
     

To step into this role having a proven and effective self-propelled drive, in combination with a solid independency would be an advantage. Having worked within complex organizations with many stakeholders simultaneously and upfront taking a visible initiative and responsibility is key.
