Job Description

Danfoss is looking for an experienced Product Manager, Digitalization & Electronic Controls to take our valve controller portfolio to the next level. Then you should join our ambitious product management team at Danfoss in Denmark or Hamburg/Germany.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

 

  • Be in charge of the global product management of the control function for our HVAC-R Electronic Controllers
  • Drive innovation and strategy around electronic controls for refrigerant systems in different applications – from commercial refrigeration to automotive thermal management
  • Generate new ideas to utilize the technological opportunities that IoT and digitalization offer
  • Present product proposals to the leadership team and accompany the product into production
  • Provide strategic direction to ensure growth for our product portfolio; contribute towards global sales strategies within different applications
  • Build business models and the related business cases for the product groups under your responsibility
  • Initiate and coordinate development projects in cooperation with sales and application specialists and in alignment with R&D and project management as a product owner in an agile development process (SCRUM).
  • Support marketing activities at trade shows in conjunction with marketing and strategy
  • Where applicable, create sales tools, product value proposition material, product roadmaps, define target pricing and conduct technical workshops together with application specialists

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (e.g. E/E, computer science, mechatronics) or in a business related are with strong technological background
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in product or program management or related functions (e.g. coordinating R&D or having the project lead in product development of complex B2B products)
  • Experience in electronic controls, IoT and/or embedded systems in an industrial environment
  • Highly energetic and self-motivated with an independent way of working, ability to “think outside the box”
  • Strong interest in commercial/business affairs
  • Proven capability in handling cross-functional projects and being effective while interfacing with different teams
  • Excellent communication skills when discussing with and presenting to different audiences
  • The ideal candidate already has some knowledge in the thermal management or HVACR domain.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills in English required. German or Danish is a plus.
  • Highly proficient in common MS Office software tools, preferably also with requirements management tools (e.g. Siemens Polarion).
