Job Description

Danfoss is looking to hire a person who is competent to Driving Localization Project /support the Project business include managing supplier contract/Segment category management / interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics and supporting other business functions as required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationship with suppliers and track/develop their performance
  • Develops and manages data driven commodity strategies to attain year over year cost reductions /Localization and quality/delivery improvements
  • Hands on experience in  EMS -PCBA Switchgear,Fabrication Enclosure,VFD Drives,Cables,Magnetics,fuse,Relay and other electrical category.
  • Solid financial understanding (TCO – total cost of ownership) with the capability to perform both on a strategic planning level as well as in executing the defined long-term plans successfully /Localization.
  • Participate in Global category Sourcing initiatives to leverage best practices, partner with other business commodity leaders, sourcing leaders and peers to maximize synergies and leverage supplier baseCost reduction through Value Engineering, Dual sourcing / re-sourcing to India, Benchmarking LCC Supplier base for all Electrical & Electronic parts.
  • Co-ordinate for PPAP trail run at supplier end and ensure part as per Danfoss specification  compliance and clear the PPAP along with Quality stakeholder.
  • Monitor supplier performance to quality, delivery, cost, innovation and working capital objectives
  • Develop, deliver, maintain, and assist in the implementation of best practice Supply Chain processes, policies, and templates
  • Creates purchase orders and supply agreements. Ensures transactions are managed in seamless process from order entry through invoice payment
  • Expediate or defer orders as requested based on schedule /inventory changes.
  • Co-ordinate Material flows throughout Project execution /BOM Changes 
  • Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with Suppliers and Drive supplier claims.
  • Setup & maintain material master system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety stocks)

Background & Skills

  • 10-12 years of experience in a Procurement buyer/Category management/Procurement role working for a direct Material (Control panel industry experience required /EMS -PCBA added advantage)
  • Experience in VFD control panel component handling (EMS -PCBA Switchgear , Fabrication Enclosure, Cables, Magnetics, fuse, Relay and other electrical category )
  • Solid analytical skills. Able to define and understand the most critical issues.
  • A thorough knowledge of the legal aspects of procurement coupled with the ability to write effective supplier contracts
  • Very strong communication skills as well as solid experience in English /business negotiations
  • Knowledge on Indian & International Electrical Standards IEEE/ IEC/ IPC /CPRI/UL/IS/SAE/ERDA certification.
  • Strong supplier relations skills, strong negotiating skills and thorough understanding of supplier market and key drivers
  • Highly structured and systematic, works proactively and result-oriented as well as willing and able to take initiative
  • Able to influence others & manage conflict
  • Ability to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations
  • Strong sense of urgency & attention to detail
  • BE Electrical/Electronics, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics 
  • Expert applied knowledge of forecasting, MRP, transportation, supplychain, inventory management and warehousing disciplines.
