In Global Services Logistics we are looking for a new employee to work on optimization project for Supply Chain. Global Services Logistics is the internal Logistics Provider for the Danfoss Group.

We started our digital transformation by establishing our One ERP template as the foundation for any future activities in Supply Chain and Customer Experience. The implementation takes places in waves enabling us to act agile and flexible towards our customer requirements and supply chain challenges. The basis is aligned business processes, SAP configurations, business forms, master data definitions and training material across the entire organization.

In our role as internal Logistics provider, Global Services Logistics is establishing a team for Logistics Process and Network Design and is looking for a Supply Chain Network Analyst. You will join a highly motivated GS-L Team and interact closely with the Supply Chain Colleagues from the three Danfoss segments as well as with our colleagues in Global Service Logistics.

As a key member of the Logistics Competence Center, this role contributes to end-to-end decision support for supply chain network design through studies and recommendations driven from advanced analytics using supply chain modeling and network optimization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with diverse technical and non-technical groups to scope project requirements, identify appropriate data sources, validate model outputs, and formulate insights
  • Use model as a discovery tool to identify potential opportunities
  • Deliver analytical study results to key stakeholders
  • Develop recommendations based on model output and business acumen and support recommendations with documented and traceable methodology
  • Communicate model output to technical and non-technical stakeholder through a combination of written and visual presentation techniques
  • Lead efforts to acquire, and cleanse, and validate data for structured model use
  • The knowledge and understanding of ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) tools for core data inputs into supply chain network models
  • Transform “big data” often consisting of hundreds of thousands of lines from disparate sources for structured model use
  • Apply best practices and ingenuity using packaged supply chain network optimization software to model baseline network behavior and hypothetical ‘what-if’ scenarios
  • Design and construct scenarios aligned to project scope and stakeholder inquiries
  • Develop expert-level knowledge in supply chain network optimization software
  • Ensure model output validity
  • Perform comprehensive and detailed interpretation of results connecting data inputs, modeling techniques, assumptions, and model outputs to derive business insights
  • Deliver analytical study results to key stakeholders

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in supply chain role such as inventory or production planning, transportation management, supply chain analytics, etc.
  • Knowledge of principles of optimization applied to footprint optimization, product flow optimization, inventory optimization, and cost-to-serve analysis
  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving experience using supply chain network optimization software (e.g. LLamasoft Supply Chain Guru, Coupa Supply Chain Modeler, AIMMS Supply Chain Design, anyLogistix, Blue Yonder Network Design, River Logic Supply Chain Network Optimization, etc.)
  • Demonstrated technical experience with relational database management and large data sets
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel (e.g. advanced formulas, PivotTables, etc.).
  • Experience with Reporting Tools
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Successful candidate must be able to work cross functionally in a matrix team organization
  • Must be capable of working in virtual teams and across cultures
  • Candidate must be self-driven with the ability to work to meet hard deadlines for the project
