Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Develop and maintain high Simulation knowledge to speed up Innovation, Development and Value Engineering
  • Develop and maintain product models to digitalize the customer relation with the focus of virtual benchmarking, virtual prototypes and system optimization
  • Responsible in simulating Danfoss products and refrigeration systems with the expected accuracy
  • Support to ensure that Danfoss has the best tools in place and pushing boundaries of what we can do today
  • Develop product models and thermal management system models based on general physics, testing and simulation input
  • Optimize products and systems based on your models
  • Provide virtual benchmarking in your virtual systems
  • Interact with customers via FMI standard
  • Extend and maintain model libraries
  • Develop advanced product models to support the product development
  • Provide design recommendations based on simulations including design experiments, verification and testing
  • Increase the number of designs evaluated for products by using Modelling & Simulation, reduce the need for physical tests 
  • Use optimization techniques to enable design space exploration or to account for uncertainties
  • Actively part of implementation of Virtual Engineering
  • Document Model & Simulation results and best practices

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • University master’s degree in engineering or similar education with a technical background
  • Min 6 years’ experience in working with Modelling & Simulation in the Product Development Environment
  • Proven experience with 0D/1D lumped-parameter modeling and simulation of refrigeration or thermal systems (both steady state and transient)
  • Preferably experience in Parameterization Methods and the FMI standard (not Mandatory)
  • Proven experience in tools for simulating 3D physical phenomena, at least in one of the following areas CFD, FEA, FSI, EMC or NVH simulation. Competencies in more than one area is a plus
  • Willingness to develop our competences further and extend your knowledge in other areas
  • Proven experience in using Dymola or equivalent tools
  • Preferably experience using Ansys tools (not Mandatory)
  • Fluent and comprehensive English
